The writer of Psalm 91 reminds us of the safest place we could ever be in this life. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'” (Ps. 91:1-2) There is no safer or more blessed place we can ever find than walking close beside our God! Money can’t provide anything safer, for He owns all the money in the world. Pleasure can’t keep us any better, for there is no greater pleasure than spending each day with Him!
“Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways! You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently.” (Ps. 119:1-4) We can’t “dwell in the shelter of the Most High” when we have sin in our lives, when we walk in darkness, and when we do not seek Him with ALL our heart!
It seems so many people are blindly chasing after everything else, when He ALONE is the source of happiness, contentment, peace, and joy! WHY do we waste our time following or pursuing ANYTHING else?
