This world’s philosophy is to do just that “Just Follow Your Heart.” If you look up “follow your heart” quotes on the web, you’ll find all sort of advice, like – “Just follow your heart, and let it take you wherever it wants!” Sadly, however, that is what leads many people astray and to a wrong life. You see, the Bible warns us, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)
The ONLY time we’re supposed to “Follow” our heart, is when our heart is focused and fixed on Jesus Christ and loving Him, praising Him, and obeying Him. David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
Solomon warned us in Proverbs 4:23, “Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.” and in Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart” Make sure your heart is in the right place! Your entire life depends on that! Don’t just go “following after your heart” when your heart is leading you contrary to God’s Word and Will.
The world’s wisdom is just do whatever you want, follow your heart. God’s wisdom is follow Jesus, even when it leads where you might not “want” to go!
