David opened the longest chapter in the Bible, the 119th Psalm with these words; “Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!” (Psalm 119:1-3)
One of the most difficult things to convince people of in today’s world is the truth about sin, and what is WRONG to do. Even thousands who claim to be Christians don’t want to even talk about or discuss things that the Bible CLEARLY states are against the commandments of Almighty God. Too many people would rather walk blindly not even having a real clue where they are headed than to have their eyes opened and the truth pointed out to them. We chase after all of the pleasures of this world, the things that keep us entertained and our mind where it should never be in the first place.
I don’t think I can state it better than Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) who said, “What, then, is the folly of the worldling’s choice, when he prefers to be contending among men for earthly toys–instead of seeking those things which are above! How great is the degradation of professing Christians, when their minds are taken up with fashionable trivialities–instead of living alone to glorify their God, and acting as those whom Jesus has made to be kings and priests! Who cares for pebbles–when jewels glitter before him? Who would choose toys and rattles–when the wealth of the Indies is offered him? Let us be no longer children or fools–but act as men who have put away childish things.”
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth!” (Colossians 3:1-2)
This World will NEVER satisfy you – only loving God and walking right before Him is what will satisfy us. The Bible doesn’t mess around when it tells us HOW TO WALK – It’s quite plain really. Too many times, we just don’t want to do what it takes to Walk Rightly. If only we would see the folly of our ways and learn to keep His testimonies and seek Him with ALL of our hearts! And NO, there is no half way with God – it’s either ALL or NOTHING. PERIOD!
