I was getting out of the house this afternoon, and decided to go walk around some stores to get exercise since it was a bit warm outside.
I am wearing one of my “Cancer Survivor” t-shirts. And when I got out of my car to go into the store, there was a lady standing outside the store – talking on her cellphone.
When she saw me approaching and obviously read my shirt. She motioned me over and said “I love your shirt! I am a cancer survivor also.” And, we stood there discussing cancer for a moment.
Then I told her to hold on, and got one of my books out of my car and gave it to here. To which she said, “Can I go get a friend?” And she walked away and came back with another lady, and said to the other lady “This is the guy I was telling you about!” And I found out she too was a cancer survivor!
We talked for a brief moment and as we were getting ready to go our separate ways, she said; “Can we pray?” And we all wrapped our arms around each other – outside of Marshalls and had a brief moment of prayer!!
Here I was with two complete strangers – hugging and praying! That’s the way it is with true believers. We have that instant connection with each other because we are part of the family of God. That’s why we are commanded to love each other, even those we don’t know!
