Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 1:12 “I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service,”
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be faithful to Him, no matter what it costs us and no matter how difficult the task He has given us. If we truly love Him, we will be faithful to Him.
The Bible is full of testimonies to faithfulness. David was a faithful shepherd, tending his flocks, and because of his faithfulness and trusting in God’s perfect plan – he became the King of Isreal. Joseph was faithful as a slave and then as a prisoner (even though falsely accused), and God made him second in command of all of Egypt. Daniel was faithful to God even as a slave, and God elevated him to greatness in Babylon. Shadrach Meshach and Abednego were faithful to God, even as they were thrown into a fiery furnace, and God saved them.
And look at what the writer of Hebrews reminds us in Hebrews 3:1b-2a; “…consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him…” That’s the example we are to follow! Jesus was faithful to death, the death on a cross!
Even when the day seems too difficult, the way too hard, and the road too impossible – stay faithful to God. He knows what He is doing!!
